Therapeutic Services
- Individual therapy, counselling, and skills training for children and adolescents
Family therapy
Cognitive-based therapies including cognitive-behavioural therapy
Expressive therapies including art, sandplay, and play therapy
- Attachment-based strategic parent education
- Filial therapy, an attachment-based parent-child relationship therapy, working with parent and child
Adolescent addiction counselling and addiction assessments
- Individual and group counselling for children ages 5 – 12 years old coping with a parent with active addiction
- Consultation and advocacy with schools, MCFD and other community members.
- Assisting families with referral to appropriate services including child psychiatrists for psychiatric assessment and medication management, occupational therapists for OT sensory processing assessment and treatment, registered psychologists for psychoeducational testing and psychological assessment.
Services for Mental Health Professionals
Training
Provide training workshops for mental health professionals including mental health therapists, social workers, counsellors, school counsellors, psychologists, psychiatrists.
Topics include play therapy, therapy with young children, filial therapy (parent-child relationship), family therapy, family play therapy, parent education and skills training.
Continuing education hours count toward Registered Play Therapist (RPT) credential registration requirements of the (American) Association for Play Therapy and toward Certified Play Therapist (CPT) credential certification requirements of the Canadian Association for Play Therapy and toward BC Retistered Play Therapist (BCRPT) registration requirements of the BC Play Therapy Association.
Christopher is an Approved Provider of play therapy continuing education with the (American) Association for Play Therapy and the BC Play Therapy Association and an Approved Provider of play therapy continuing education and foundation training with the Canadian Association for Play Therapy.

Supervision
Provide supervision for mental health professionals. In-person individual and group supervision and distance individual supervision. Supervision services to agencies and organizations on a contract basis are also available.
Supervision hours count toward CPT credential certification requirements of the Canadian Association for Play Therapy and BCRPT credential with the BC Play Therapy Association and RPT credential registration requirements of the (American) Association for Play Therapy.
Consultation
Provide consultation services to mental health therapists and other mental health professionals and organizations on clinical work, programs and playroom design.
Services for School Professionals
Training
Provide training workshops on Relational Strategic Classroom Management for teachers, education assistants and school administrators. Chris was a Licensed School Counsellor in Indiana and worked in elementary, middle, and high schools. He has provided training workshops in Minnesota and British Columbia to schools.
Why Relational Strategic Classroom Management? Effective classroom management encompasses effective teaching, an engaging teacher-student relationship and practical strategies. A positive teacher-student relationship is essential for both responding to and preventing behaviour issues. A practical strategy is one that is effective with responding to student misbehaviour without disrupting teaching and learning. Relational strategic classroom management focuses on how to motivate students, to increase on-task behaviour, and to prevent and respond to difficult behaviour.
Chris has completed the Tools for Teaching training developed by Fred Jones in California and is a group facilitator. Tools for Teaching is an evidenced-based approach to effective classroom management . It is utilized across the United States and Canada for responding to and preventing classroom behaviour issues.
Chris has completed the Teaching with Love and Logic training developed by Jim Fay et al at the Love and Logic Institute in Colorado. He is a 9 Essential Skills for the Love and Logic Classroom facilitator.
Consultation
Provide consultation to teachers, education assistants and school administrators on interventions to address student issues and classroom management.
